Galesburg is about 150 miles southwest
of Chicago.
It's close to Peoria and the Quad
Cities if that helps anyone.

Trains are going through town constantly. Stanley was once told by someone who works for the railroad that as many as 80 trains a day may pass through town. |

One of the buildings on campus was the sight of one of Abraham Lincoln's famous debates with Stephen Douglas. |
of Galesburg's most famous resident: poet Carl Sandburg. His one-time home is now a museum and open to the public. |

Flat Stanley went back for one other reason. Galesburg also happens to be Mr. Landon's hometown. So when Mr. Landon went back to get married, Stanley put on his tuxedo and went to the wedding. |
