Pine Island, Florida

Pine Island is a small island off the coast of Florida, in the Gulf of Mexico.
It is close to Fort Myers, Florida.
Flat Stanley spent some time in this area and had a blast!

Stanley saw many boats during his trip.
He eventually got to go on a boat ride,
and made sure to wear a life jacket
for his own safety.

Stanley got to spend lots of time on the beach.
While he was there, a friend of his made this sand turtle.  The turtle's shell was made out of shells found on the beach.

Flat Stanley also collected seashells along the beach.
He brought home a big box full of shells.
Here we see him showing off two of his favorites.

While looking around,
Stanley found a model shark hanging upside down.
Stanley decided to strike a funny pose for the camera
with his friend.
Silly Stanley!

Stanley often watched the waves
on the Gulf of Mexico.
One time, he even saw dolphins
swimming through the waters.

After enjoying a very nice sunset on the beach,
Flat Stanley packed his bags for home.
It was a fun trip to Florida.
Stanley says to go and enjoy it
if you get the chance.
